WELCOME TO OUR TOUR
Last March, my dad was in Saskatoon on a business trip, and dropped by the museum. He picked up lots of pamphlets, took lots of pictures, and the staff showed him around "behind the scenes" where he got to see some of the stuff that's not usually out on public display.

Over the next three weeks, Diefenbaker Web will take you on a tour of the Diefenbaker Centre in Saskatoon, and show you some of the stuff that my dad brought back. Most of the pictures on the tour were taken by my dad, Allen Gower. A few are from other books that the Diefenbaker Centre provided.

ABOUT THE DIEFENBAKER CENTRE
The Right Honourable John G. Diefenbaker Centre is located at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. In his will, Diefenbaker asked that all of his personal effects be bequeathed to the University. Diefenbaker turned the sod in 1975 to begin the building of the Centre, and it was completed in 1978, just over a year before Diefenbaker's death. The centre opened on June 12, 1980, and includes exhibits of Diefenbaker memorabilia and an extensive archives section for research. We'll look at the inside the museum on weeks one and two.

The gravesite of Diefenabaker and his wife Olive are also located near the Centre, and there are several sites of historic interest nearby. We'll explore some of these on week three of the tour.
